Who we are
AikaGraph Genealogy is an early-stage beta product from We See You Wellness, founded by Suzanne Freyjadis, Bri F. Aguirre, and Ulf Freyjadis. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@weseeyouwellness.com.
What we collect
This beta collects far less than a typical web application, and by design never touches your family tree data. Specifically:
| Source | Data collected |
|---|---|
| Beta login | Your email address, and once you accept the Beta Tester Agreement: your typed full name, the date and time of acceptance, which version of the agreement you accepted, a cryptographic hash of the exact text you saw, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string. This matches Section 12 of the Beta Tester Agreement you accepted. |
| Session cookie | A random session identifier stored in a cookie on your device, used only to keep you logged in. It contains no personal data itself. |
| In-app usage analytics | Which features you use and the order/timing of your actions within the app — for example, that a GEDCOM was loaded, which visualization mode or skybox preset was picked, whether a tutorial was started, or that findings were exported. This is tied to a randomly generated, one-way-hashed identifier for your account (not your email) and a per-visit session id, not to your name or email directly, and it never includes anything from your family tree's content. Team members testing the app internally are excluded from this data by an explicit flag we maintain. This matches Section 12 of the Beta Tester Agreement you accepted. |
| Feedback (optional) | Only if you use the in-app feedback button, which opens your own email client with a pre-filled report — nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. That report can include a short local log of your own session's feature usage, generated on your device, for troubleshooting. |
What we never collect
Your family tree (GEDCOM) data never leaves your device. It is read and parsed entirely in your own browser and kept in that browser's local storage, tied to that device. There is no upload endpoint in this application for tree data — it is architecturally impossible for it to reach our servers. If you export or save changes, the file is written back to your own computer, not to us.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- Operating the login and confidentiality-agreement flow: to identify you as an approved tester and record your acceptance of the Beta Tester Agreement. Legal basis: performance of that agreement and our legitimate interest in controlling access to unreleased, confidential software (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
- Keeping you logged in (session cookie): strictly necessary for the service to function — no consent banner is required for this under GDPR/ePrivacy, since it is not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
- In-app usage analytics: to understand which features are actually used so we can improve the product, and to report aggregate (never individual) usage to our own investors/founders. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in evaluating, improving, and developing the beta product, and the consent you gave when accepting the Beta Tester Agreement's data-processing acknowledgment (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us; we'll flag your account so no further usage analytics are recorded.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run this beta. We don't sell personal data to anyone, and we don't use any third-party advertising or analytics trackers (e.g. Google Analytics, ad pixels) — the usage analytics described above are collected and stored entirely on our own infrastructure, by us, for us.
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Hetzner Online GmbH | Application hosting and database storage, in Helsinki, Finland. |
| Brevo (Sendinblue SA) | Transactional email delivery — your login link and your copy of the accepted agreement. France-based. |
Both providers above are headquartered within the European Economic Area. Where any part of a provider's infrastructure involves processing outside the EEA, we rely on that provider's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent legally recognized safeguard for the transfer.
How long we keep it
Tester account and agreement-acceptance data is kept for the duration of the beta programme and a reasonable period after, typically no more than 24 months after the beta concludes, unless a longer relationship develops. Usage analytics data follows the same retention window and is deleted or aggregated beyond individual identifiability once it's no longer needed for the improvement purposes described above. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — once incorporated, this will be the Finnish Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman; in the meantime, you may also contact the supervisory authority in your own EU country of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@weseeyouwellness.com.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page as our data practices change, and particularly once we complete incorporation in Finland. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
